A Bad Start to the New Year

Sent to Mr and Mrs H Smith, 6 Kincaid Road, Meeting House Lane, Peckham, SE on 12 September 1910, Rosina tells her parents about the bad start she has had to the new year:

Dear Mother and Father

Just a few lines thanking you for birthday card & good wishes, but I have started the new year bad for I have been poorly ever since my birthday and was real ill Saturday & Sunday.  I don’t feel very grand today.  I am sending Ben & the new house what do you think of it?  Love to all from all here.  Will come over soon.  Your loving daughter

Rosina
