Gertie Had Nasty Papers

Posted in Shrewsbury on 2 July 1910 to Mrs Bishop, The Narrows, Ludlow, Shropshire, Gertie writes:

Dear Mother
Have had nasty papers today. 1 was simply horrid
I shall be home 6-18 Saturday so please send Cissie to station to carry parcel up.  I have a bit of a cold and cough today, not much.  I have nothing to do tomorrow so perhaps we are going to The Hill in afternoon.  It was Mrs H and Miss S we had tea with on Tuesday.  I suppose you are all by yourself now.  Shall not write tomorrow.  With love to all.
Gertie.

Looks as though nothing much has changed in the last 100 years exam wise.  Nasty, horrid exam papers!

The other side of Gertie’s postcard to her mother, a picture of St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury, can be seen here.
